My key fob opens the door but the car won t start.

Insert a working old key in the ignition and turn to the on position do not start car.
The car may give you some sort of acknowledgement as each key is learned lights flash horn beep etc if the above procedure does not work neither channel 01 nor channel 21 are available follow this procedure.
Reconnect the battery and put your key in the ignition turn the key to power on for 10 minutes leaving it in the power on position do not crank the car over after that turn the key back start the car shut it off.
If your key fob fails to lock or unlock your car all you need to do is to replace its battery.
Press and hold either the lock or unlock button for one second.

I assumed it was just the battery in the key fob so i locked it manually by putting the key in the door.
This can only be done with your master key but is fast and simple to do.
Your key fob should reset itself.
Do not use the backup key as it only opens doors and will not start the car.
